Ostium – a new jailbreak tweak developed by Danyl brings a cool screen splitting effect while launching the Notification Center.
After installing the jailbreak tweak, users can access the Notification center by pinching apart the Home screen.
You can use the same gesture in any application. You can swipe from the edge of the screen to dismiss the Notification center.
You can also use the default swipe down and swipe up gestures to access and dismiss the Notification Center with split screen effect.
The jailbreak tweak offers some minor customizations such as the ability to turn on or turn off the regular slide effect via the Settings app (Settings -> Ostium). It works in both the portrait and landscape mode.
Check out the demo of the jailbreak tweak to see how it works:
Ostium is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. It currently supports iOS 5.x.x and doesn’t support support iOS 6.
Ostium is available on Cydia for $0.99. It’s quite a neat jailbreak tweak if you’re looking to enhance the native visual experience of your iOS device.

QuickEmoji: Jailbreak Tweak Allows You To Access Emoji Icons From Default iOS Keyboard

If you use Emoji icons frequently while texting etc. then you will probably like QuickEmoji – a newjailbreak tweak that allows you to access the Emoji icons or emoticons from the default iOS keyboard so you don’t have to switch to the Emoji keyboard.

Since the . , ? ! ‘ keys are available when you tap on the Number key 123 on the iOS keyboard as well as when you tap on the Symbol key #+=, the hack replaces the redundant keys in the Symbol section of the default iOS keyboard with emoticons, thus making good use of the space available on the iOS keyboard.
You can access more emoticons by tapping and holding the Emoji icons. There are no options to configure in the Settings app, all you need to do is install the jailbreak tweak from Cydia and it will replace the . , ? ! ‘ keys in the Symbol section of the iOS keyboard with emoticons as you can see in the screenshots below:
As you can see keys . , ? ! ‘ are available in the both the sections
QuickEmoji replaces the keys with emoticons
Tap and hold on an emoticons to access more emoticons
QuickEmoji is compatible with the following keyboard layouts:
QWERTY
AZERTY
QWERTZ
HEBREW
QuickEmoji is compatible with iOS 6. It is available on Cydia for free. It seems like a more intuitive way to access emoticons on the iOS device rather than switching back and forth between the default iOS keyboard and the Emoji keyboard.
Let us know what you think in the comments.

How To Use a Mouse On Your iPad & iPhone [Jailbreak Tips]

| |
0 comments
The iPad is primarily a media consumption device. However, as users have come to realize, it is also a competent device to work on documents using iPad apps such as Pages and Numbers and is also popular with some bloggers. For users who are not comfortable using the virtual keyboard while working on documents, Apple offers an iPad Keyboard dock accessory.

        BTC Mouse & Trackpage

While this is a useful add-on for businessusers, a drawback in using this accessory or any other Bluetooth keyboard, is the touch-screen based navigation on the iPad.
If you think that an iPad connected to a Bluetooth keyboard may be better operated using the point-and-click navigation feature offered by a mouse, then we’ve some good news.
A new jailbreak tweak called BTC Mouse & Trackpad allows you to do just that. You can follow these steps to pair a mouse with yourjailbroken iPad:
Install BTC Mouse & Trackpad:
  • Launch Cydia on your jailbroken iPad
  • Tap on the Search tab at the bottom and search for BTC Mouse
  • Tap on BTC Mouse & Trackpad from the search results
  • Tap on Purchase button to buy the jailbreak tweak (BTC Mouse & TrackPad currently available for $4.98 on Cydia, and at a 50% discount if you had purchased BTstack Keyboard)
  • After the jailbreak tweak has been purchased, tap on the Install button at the top right corner
  • Then tap on the Confirm button
  • After it successfully installed, tap on the Restart SpringBoard button when prompted
Pair Bluetooth Mouse with your iPad:
  • Launch the Settings app
  • Tap on General, then tap on the Bluetooth option, ensure that the Bluetooth is enabled, if it Bluetooth is OFF, tap on the toggle to turn it ON
  • You should now see BTC – Bluetooth Companion, tap on Mouse & Trackpad option, this will connect to the server of the developer and thank you for purchasing the jailbreak tweak. Click on Okay and you will notice that the Mouse & Trackpad option is now enabled and it is trying to discover devices
  • Power on the Apple Magic Mouse or any other Bluetooth mouse
  • You will see the Apple Magic Mouse under Devices (interestingly, it will briefly say Keyboard)
  • Tap on it to pair it with your iPad
  • The status will change to Connected after the mouse is successfully paired with the iPad
That’s it, you will now be able to use the mouse with your iPad. By default, the right click simulates the press of the Home button, left click simulates a tap, so you can left click on an app to launch it and double clicking on the Home screen will open the multitasking tray/app switcher. If you have a Bluetooth mouse with a middle button or the scroll wheel, it is mapped to pinch/zoom. At this point, gestures don’t work on your Apple Magic Mouse or Magic Trackpad.
The jailbreak tweak also offers a feature called presentation mode, that can be enabled for each app. If presentation mode is enabled, left or right click on the mouse will generate a left or right wipe, which can be useful in apps like Keynote. You can configure the jailbreak tweak via the Settings app (Settings -> Mouse).
The cool thing is that most of the touch gestures for things like cut, copy, paste work just fine with the mouse.
It also works with Apple’s Magic Trackpad. The jailbreak tweak should also work with your iPhone, though using the mouse on the iPhone would be quite weird even with iPhone 5′s taller 4-inch display.
Do you fancy the idea of using a mouse with your iPad? Let us know in the comments.
Note: BTC Mouse & Trackpad is currently compatible with iOS 5.1.1 – iOS 4.0.

Emblem: Jailbreak Tweak Brings OS X-Style Notifications To iPad

| |

Last week, Joshua Tucker – iOS jailbreak developer released a new jailbreak tweak called Emblem at the WorldWide Jailbreak Convention (WWJC).
The jailbreak brings the OS X-style banner notifications to the iPad.
After installing the jailbreak tweak, the notifications will show up in the top-right corner of the iPad’s screen similar to the way notifications show up on the Mac.
You can tap, hold and swipe to the right on the notification to dismiss them or tap on a notification to launch the appropriate app.
If you get multiple banner notifications from the same app, the jailbreak tweak will first display the notifications separately, one below the other, and then stack them together. You can then swipe through this stack of notifications to view each notification or tap, hold and swipe to the right to dismiss all the notifications in one-go. It’s a pretty cool feature.
You can check ou the demo of Emblem in the action below:
It’s a pretty cool tweak. It is available on Cydia for $1.99. Joshua has developed other popularjailbreak tweaks such as CallBarReveal and recently released Scale – a tweak that allows you toeasily share “Now Playing” song with your friends from the Music app.
As always, let us know what you think of Emblem in the comments below.

iOS 6 – Apple’s new mobile operating system for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch comes with more than 200 new features.
One of the major new features is the deep Facebook integration, similar to the Twitter integration Apple had introduced in iOS 5. But strangely there is still no way to share the music you’re listening to, with your friends on Facebook or Twitter.
Joshua Tucker – iOS jailbreak developer has released a new jailbreak tweak called Scale at theWorldWide Jailbreak Convention (WWJC) yesterday, which allows you to share what’s playing now with your friends via Twitter, Facebook, email or message.
As you can see in the screenshot below, the jailbreak tweak adds a new Share button to the scrubber bar (which is displayed when you tap on the Album artwork on the Now Playing screen), next to the Shuffle toggle in the Now Playing screen of the native Music app.
When you tap on it, it opens an iOS 6-like menu with an option to share the song with your friends either on Facebook (iOS 6 only), Twitter, email, message. You can also add the song to the playlist and copy the name of the song and the singer to the Clipboard.
The jailbreak tweak is so well integrated with the Music app, that you’ll forget you had hacked your iPhone to add it.
Scale is available for free on Cydia. So download it and let us know what you think of the jailbreak tweak in the comments.

Elias Limneos – developer of popular jailbreak tweaks such as CallBar has recently released a new jailbreak tweak called AquaBoard – Water Effects.
As the name suggests, the jailbreak tweak adds ripple effects to jailbroken iPhone and iPad’s Home screen and Lock screen.
When you touch the wallpaper, icons, the lock screen, it creates the ripple effect on the SpringBoard. It feels as if your iPhone’s Home screen and Lock screen are covered with water. You can choose from 10 different interestingly named animations such as Turbulence, Aqua Sphere, Waves, Shockwave, Unseen Absyss, Abstract Artist, Heavy Taps, Smudge Brush.
Limneos has recently added a new Raining mode, which creates the ripple effects on the SpringBoard by random rain drops rather than by touch.
You have the ability to disable the animations on your Lock Screen, Home Screen or Battery view mode via the Settings app (Settings -> AquaBoard). You can slow down or increase the speed of the animation using Frames per second in the Settings app.
